EnergyConnect

We’re making the electricity connections process easier for customers and industry.

EnergyConnect

In EnergyConnect, you can:

  • register an account with AusNet
  • create supply, metering, solar and major connection applications
  • save and revisit draft applications
  • track the progress of a project
  • submit enquiries
  • securely upload documents.

EnergyConnect allows you to submit applications to upgrade, extend or change our network, or meter-related connections for your project needs. Submit applications including:

  • new or increased supply
  • pit installations
  • private mains on public land applications
  • private line removal
  • public lighting
  • relocating or removing assets or equipment
  • high voltage supply and major connection and generation projects
  • solar applications less than 1.5MW
  • meter-related connection, alteration and abolishments.

We’ve merged the AusNet customer portal and EnergyConnect

You may notice EnergyConnect looks a bit different now. We’ve merged the existing EnergyConnect portal with the new AusNet customer portal for a new and improved experience.

You can save application drafts and get regular email updates about the progress of applications. Property contacts and electricians will also be kept updated on the progress of applications submitted on their behalf.

If you are registered in EnergyConnect, but have not registered in the customer portal

From 25 August, you must re-register with your existing email address. This is because EnergyConnect has migrated into the system we’re using for the customer portal (which was launched in October 2024). You will need to re-register so we can capture your role details - for example, whether you are a customer, electrician, administrator or council representative. This is so we can show you the right information and available applications. We also want to give you the opportunity to read and accept your new Terms of Use.
Once you register with your existing email, we’ll do the rest to make sure your existing applications and other history is matched to your account.

If you are an ASP currently registered in the EnergyConnect partner portal with an AusNet ID

From 25 August 2025, the new EnergyConnect sign-in page will include a button directing you to the ASP portal. You can login here using your existing AusNet ID credentials. You do not need to register for a new account.

If you have already registered in the AusNet customer portal

You can login to EnergyConnect with your existing customer portal credentials. It’s still the same portal, we’ve just changed the name. Any applications you made in EnergyConnect before 25 August 2025 using the same email address, will be merged across.

Getting started

Register for one of the following account types:

  • Customer - includes residential or business customers
  • Industry - includes electricians, company administrators, contractors, developers and installers
  • Government agency - representative of a council, VicRoads or other related agency.

If you register with an industry account, you'll need to provide your specific role, company name and ABN. You’ll also have access to a wider selection of applications.
