Lakes Entrance planned power outage for fire season safety preparation

6 August 2018

Getting in ahead of the busy tourism season, AusNet will undertake important maintenance work for summer preparation of the electricity network in the Lakes Entrance.

Customers in the area will be without power supply between 9.00 am and 2.00pm on Tuesday 28th August. This allows safe access for our people to perform the works between Swan Reach and Lakes Entrance.

The outage applies to customers in the areas of Nungurner, Nyerimilang, Kalimna West, Kalimna and Lakes Entrance (west of Bowler Street). Customers will receive an official outage notification letter in the mail closer to the date.

We’ve been working closely with key stakeholders from the area to determine the best day of the week for the wider community and ensure we plan the outage in a quiet period ahead of the busy tourism season.

Additional crews from across our network will be assisting our local teams which will allow us to condense the program into a five hour window to minimise the impact while we carry out this necessary work well before the bushfire and tourism season begins.

We understand the inconvenience of being without electricity and we sincerely thank our customers for their patience while we make further improvements to the safety and reliability of their electricity supply.
