Field crew precautions during the COVID-19 outbreak
The safety of our employees, customers and communities is of critical importance always, but particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. That’s why we’ve asked our field crews to take extra precautions, practice social distancing and increase exclusion zones around our work sites where it is possible to do so.
This means our exclusion zones around work sites have increased to create a larger separation between members of the public and crews. This may impact access to footpaths and driveways in some instances. If customers need access to their driveway, please ask our crews and they will be happy to facilitate access where required.
We also ask that you keep your distance to ensure your safety and the safety of our field crews.
We absolutely understand it’s not ideal to have any interruption to power right now, particularly given customers may be self-isolating, working from home, looking after children or with more food in the fridge and freezer than usual. The community should be assured that the work we are currently doing is critical to maintain a safe and reliable electricity supply, now and into the future.
We apologise for any disruption caused by our crews and thank you for your patience and understanding.
