AusNet has secured an agreement with Tilt Renewables to develop a new transmission line for the 54 MW Salt Creek Wind Farm project in western Victoria.
Once fully commissioned, the wind farm is expected to produce on average 172 GWh per annum, producing sufficient energy to power around 30,000 homes.
AusNet’ Executive General Manager Commercial Energy Services, Chad Hymas, said AusNet was committed to supporting Australia’s transition to renewable energy.
“AusNet is proud to partner with Tilt Renewables for this significant wind farm development that will support western Victoria’s energy supply system and contribute to job growth in regional Victoria,” Mr Hymas said.
The agreement follows an extensive period of collaborative planning and design between AusNet and Tilt Renewables in conjunction with industry and state planning bodies.
Mr Hymas said the project demonstrated progress towards AusNet strategy to be a leading modern energy company with a diverse asset portfolio, supporting the industry’s transition to an efficient, secure, sustainable and integrated energy future.
