Transmission network revenue

We own and operate Victoria’s electricity transmission network, in addition to our electricity and gas distribution networks in Victoria.

The transmission network covers approximately 227,600 square kilometres and serves over 6 million people. That's more than 3 million Victorian households and businesses.

The Victorian network is central to Australia’s eastern states. It provides important connections between South Australia, New South Wales and Tasmania.

Regulations

As a regulated business, we’re required to lodge a Revenue Proposal with the Australian Energy Regulator (AER). The proposal sets out revenue and investment plans for a 5 year regulatory period.

The process for setting revenue is called the Transmission Revenue Reset (TRR). The next regulatory period runs from 1 April 2022 to 31 March 2027.

Customer advisory panel

We established a TRR Customer Advisory Panel to work with us, providing customer input to our plans. This ensures the Revenue Proposal reflects customers’ views and preferences.

The panel includes representatives from directly connected customers, consumer advocates, generators and other Victorian energy distributors.

The customer advisory panel will continue as an engagement forum for transmission issues. We welcome stakeholder and customer collaboration, and their views.

Submission of revised revenue proposal

We engaged extensively with our customers and stakeholders to develop our revised proposal. This ensures their views and preferences are reflected in our updated plans.

This engagement involved 7 workshops held between 20 April and 6 August 2021. The feedback provided at these workshops means our revised proposal better reflects customer and stakeholder preferences.
