Prolonged Power Outage Payment applications are now closed

Applications for the Prolonged Power Outage Payment closed at 11:59pm (AEDT) on Wednesday 10 April. We are no longer accepting applications.

The payments, funded by the Victorian Government and Australian Government, provided financial relief to households and businesses that were without power for seven or more cumulative days due to extreme weather events on Tuesday, 13 February 2024 and Thursday, 22 February 2024.

Additional assistance

Understanding the support available can be challenging, particularly for people who might not be used to asking for help. Anybody who has an immediate recovery need can call the Emergency Recovery Hotline on 1800 560 760 and have a conversation with a recovery support worker.
