Overview
We’re connecting a data centre in Truganina to our existing transmission network.
What we’re doing
To connect the data centre, we’re:
- installing a new 220kV underground transmission cable. This will be built within the road reserves on Leakes Road in Truganina and Cherry Lane and Fitzgerald Road, in Laverton North.
- building a new 200kV substation at the data centre site
- upgrading the existing 220kV switchyard at Altona Terminal Station.
Community impacts
Construction is planned to start in mid-2026. We estimate the above works will be completed in 2027.
