AusNet is undertaking maintenance works to improve reliability for customers in Venus Bay, Inverloch, Middle Tarwin, Pound Creek, and Tarwin Lower.
AusNet’s General Manager Network Operations & Delivery, Ross Young, said the maintenance works are part of ongoing effort to improve long-term reliability.
“We’re proactively maintaining and strengthening the network to reduce the risk of unexpected outages and keep power flowing to homes and businesses.”
“We are replacing a number of power poles and associated network equipment in the Venus Bay, Tarwin Lower areas, as part of AusNet’s bushfire maintenance works,” said Mr Young.
To complete the works safely, a planned power outage will be required on Wednesday 16 September between 9.00am and 4.00pm, impacting 2600 AusNet customers.
“We know that it’s inconvenient to be without electricity and we thank our customers for their patience and understanding as we undertake this work,” said Mr Young.
Customers affected will have already received a notification from AusNet about the planned outage.
Here are some tips to prepare to be without power:
- Charge your battery packs so they're ready to power your mobile phones.
- Fill an esky with ice to keep your food and drinks cold.
- If you have an electric water pump, stock up on bottled water.
- Check on your neighbours to make sure they’re OK, especially if they’re vulnerable or elderly.
