AusNet is calling for big ideas to drive positive change, with applications now open for its $30,000 Helping Our Mission for Equity (HOME) Grant.
The grant will back innovative projects that tackle barriers, strengthen inclusion and deliver lasting benefits for customers and communities across AusNet's electricity distribution network.
Previously known as the Vulnerability Research Grant, the HOME Grant reflects a broader focus on advancing equity, supporting customers and communities and identifying practical solutions to community challenges.
AusNet Executive General Manager Compliance, Risk & Corporate Affairs, Amanda Robertson, said the grant would support ideas that create meaningful, real-world change.
"We're looking for ideas that respond to community needs and offer practical solutions that make a genuine difference in people's lives.”
"The HOME Grant is an opportunity to explore new ideas, deepen our understanding of customer needs and help shape a more inclusive energy future,” Ms Robertson said.
Previous recipients have tackled some of Victoria's key energy equity challenges, including energy upgrades for rental properties, inclusive communications, support for older Victorians navigating the energy transition and improved electricity services for people with disability. Past recipients include Mycelia Energy Collective, RMIT University, Council on the Ageing Victoria and Yarra Energy Foundation.
Applicants are encouraged to submit proposals that:
- Identify barriers and challenges faced by customers
- Generate insights to better understand customer needs
- Improve service delivery and customer outcomes
- Advance knowledge and best practice in supporting customers.
