13 October 2025

AusNet invites applications for its Helping Our Mission for Equity (HOME) Grant, offering $30,000 to fund bold ideas that improve outcomes for customers and communities across its electricity distribution network.

Formerly known as the Vulnerability Research Grant, the HOME Grant now embraces a broader mission: advancing equity, inclusion and community impact while deepening our understanding of customer needs.

AusNet Executive General Manager Compliance, Risk & Corporate Affairs, Amanda Robertson, said the grant will support ideas that make a real difference in people’s lives.

“This grant is about developing projects that will shape a more inclusive energy future and drive change in the energy sector,” said Ms Robertson.

Past recipients of the Vulnerability Research Grant include RMIT University, Council on the Ageing and the Yarra Energy Foundation.

The HOME Grant is open to individuals, researchers, community groups and businesses, who are required to submit a proposal that illustrates how they propose to improve outcomes for customers and communities on AusNet’s electricity distribution network.

AusNet is seeking proposals that:

  • Identify barriers and challenges faced by customers.
  • Generate insights to better understand and support customer needs.
  • Explore ways to improve service delivery and outcomes.
  • Advance knowledge or practice in supporting customers on AusNet’s electricity network.

Proposals can be submitted to research@ausnetservices.com.au.

Applications close on Friday 7 November 2025.
