AusNet GridView

GridView is an interactive map of our electricity network, designed to help councils, community energy groups, businesses and other organisations identify opportunities for local energy projects.

Overview

GridView gives you visibility of our low-voltage (LV) electricity network, helping you identify opportunities for community batteries, EV charging infrastructure, solar and electrification initiatives.

By making LV network data more accessible and transparent, GridView helps customers and communities understand local network capacity and explore projects that can support the energy transition.

Why use GridView?

GridView helps you:

  • identify potential locations for community batteries, EV charging infrastructure and other local energy projects
  • understand how electricity flows through the network, from zone substations to local poles and wires
  • explore electricity consumption trends at Local Government Area (LGA) and postcode levels
  • view solar uptake across local communities
  • analyse electricity demand patterns at zone substation, feeder and distribution substation levels
  • support project planning, business cases and grant applications.

Getting started

GridView Improvement Group

We have established the GridView Improvement Group (GIG), a collaborative forum to guide the ongoing development of GridView. The GIG brings together community energy advocates, council representatives, technical experts and our staff to make sure GridView continues to support the transition to a renewable energy future.
