Distribution trainee program

At AusNet, we bring the energy. Not just through the infrastructure we operate, but through the way we show up for each other, our customers and our communities.

About the program

Embark on a rewarding journey with our three-year paid traineeship program. You'll gain hands-on experience while earning a nationally recognised qualification: the Advanced Diploma of ESI – Power Systems.

As part of a dedicated cohort, you'll learn face-to-face alongside fellow trainees, building strong professional networks and shared knowledge. While everyone completes the same qualification, your learning will be tailored to one of three specialised technical streams—so your experience is relevant and aligned with your career goals.

After completing the program, you’ll be fully qualified and ready to apply for a permanent role within your chosen stream—and become a future leader in Australia’s energy transition.
