Our electricity network is spread across both public and private land, so we rely on our customers to help ensure powerlines are
clear of tress and branches, and to plant responsibly under and around powerlines.
By sharing this responsibility, we reduce the risk of events such as power outages, damage to our network and fire.
AusNet Services is responsible for maintaining minimum clearances for trees near powerlines that cross your property boundary (except for your service line), and trees within your property near powerlines in your street.
To assist with this, we ask that you regularly inspect your private electric powerline and the insulated service line that runs to your property.
If you don’t comply with a request to clear trees or branches from your property, we may need to undertake work on your behalf and pass on any costs involved.
