We’re running the GoodGrid Critical Peak Demand (CPD) program again this summer, and by participating you could reduce your business’s electricity costs over the entire year.
The GoodGrid CPD program requires participating business to reduce electricity use during peak demand events, such as high temperature days. The average of your peak energy usage during these periods is used to calculate CPD charges commonly referred to as ‘network tariffs’ or ‘supply charges’, which are included on the electricity bill that you receive from your retailer.
We nominate 5 short periods between 1 Dec. 2020 and 31 Mar. 2021 where the network is at peak demand. Peak demand periods happen on weekdays (excluding public holidays), on hot summer afternoons, usually between 3pm and 7pm.
Contribute to the reliability and safe supply of the electricity network by decreasing power demand on the network at peak periods, when the network is most under strain.
Reduce or defer the need for us to invest in electricity network upgrades to cater for brief periods of high demand, thereby reducing the overall cost of operating the network.
To register for SMS notifications about CPD days, send your National Meter Identifier (NMI) reference number(s) to 0418 176 593 or email us at CPD@ausnetservices.com.au. If you’ve already registered for SMS notifications, you don’t need to register again.
Customers who register their mobile phone number with the GoodGrid CPD program will receive an SMS notification up to 7 days before a potential CPD day (typically the day before), and by 2:00 pm AEDT on the day before a declared CPD day. CPD days also get posted below.
