Stockyard Hill Wind Farm Powerline and Haunted Gully Terminal Station

AusNet Services has been contracted by Goldwind and Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) to build, own and operate the transmission connection assets for the Stockyard Hill Wind Farm (SHWF). A new 132kV transmission line will run approximately 70 kilometres south of the SHWF to a new Terminal Station in Haunted Gully (HGTS), near Lismore.

Stockyard Hill Wind Farm is located 35 kilometres west of Ballarat, and will be the largest Wind Farm in the southern hemisphere, with a total capacity of around 530MW from 149 turbines which will be owned and operated by Goldwind Australia. Once operational, the wind farm will generate enough clean energy to power approximately 391,000 homes each year.

The new transmission line will traverse the rural communities of Skipton and Bradvale and terminate at the new terminal station 6 kilometres south of Lismore.

The project was approved by the Victorian Government in April 2018 with powerline construction works commencing in July 2018 and expected to be completed towards the end of 2019.
